In 2001 Bob & his youngest daughter Sarah went to a race meeting where the 210 class was racing. This was the spur that was needed & in 2002 BPV was racing again. In the 1st race back Bob finished 6th in a grid of 15 & took the 1st Novice trophy home.
From then on, every few weeks Bob & Sarah would travel all over the Midlands competing in all the Short Circuit meetings, but this was not the circuits he wanted to race on.Bob wanted to enter the Long Circuit Championship, but in able to do this, every driver has to complete 6 Short Circuit meetings before the MSA will update your racing licence.
2002 was a good year for BPV, 1st season back & Bob finished 12th in the Short Circuit championship out of 25 drivers.Bob got his Long Circuit licence & welcomed 2003
20 drivers entered that season, Bob raced at all the major circuits, Snetterton, OultonPark, Cadwell & Pemrey.BPV finished 9th in the Long Circuit Championship, which meant Bob raced with the number 9 plate for the 2004 Championship.
In 2004 BPV again at all the major circuits, but also at Brands Hatch. This race meeting was televised by ITV because it was the last round of the Formula Woman Championship. The last meeting was at Darley Moor, Bob was 8th in the Championship, all he needed was to finish both races to gain the number 8 plate for 2005.Mechanical failure meant that he couldn’t finish both races, that was it, Bob finished 10th, but only finishes 1-9 have seeded plates, so he took his old number back & raced number 25 in 2005.
